Cape Golf Holidays was started by long time friends, Ian Frost and Donovan Goosen, both Golf teaching professionals. Ian and Donovan both started their teaching careers by attending the European Golf Teachers Federation (EGTF) diploma course. After many years of playing amateur golf, they realised their passion for helping others in the game of golf.

Donovan subsequently joined an academy in Somerset West in South Africa, where he worked as the Head Golf Pro for 4 years. During this time he worked for the South African Golf Development Board as an instructor for 18 months, before being approached to manage a Summer Camp golf programme in Connecticut, USA. This was the beginning of an extensive international travel program for Donovan, who has since coached clients in the USA, Scotland, England, Spain, Germany, Austria, Mauritius and most recently Norway. Among his clients are Hugo du Toit, three-times SA disabled one-arm golf champion, Justin Harding (2^nd ranked amateur in South Africa in 2005), a number of South African, UK, Norwegian, German and French professionals.

Ian has been playing golf from the age of 7, and has always been passionate about all sport, and the coaching thereof. While studying, he played SA Technikons golf, after which he played and coached cricket in England. While in the England, Ian moved back into the golf world, and completed his EGTF coaching course in Kent, and coached at Bury St Edmonds. On his return to South Africa in 2003, he started coaching at Vodacom Village in Somerset West with Donovan, a post he has occupied for the last 3 years, as a full time coach. At present he is also completing his PGA qualification.

After numerous queries and requests from clients, Ian and Donovan realised that there was a huge market for Professionally organised and operated golf tours for the international market to South Africa, tours which cater for the needs of the clients, flexible tours, which can be altered to suit the individual needs of individuals groups of guests. Cape Golf Holidays are planned, organised, and led by Ian and Donovan personally.
